Social Network!

Probably I went in with lot of expectations given the reviews for this movie have been nothing short of fabulous and some even point that this movie might be a silent runner for the oscars. Well at this point I should have gotten the idea at-least that when a reviewer says that the movie is worth an oscar, then it would definitely not be to my liking. Yet I did take the risk. Only to find the movie kind of a let down. Yes it was entertaining to an extent. Yes the actors had done a decent enough job. But what was in there that has made folks rave about it? Or what was absolutely new about it? That if you are to be a millionaire you have to step on top of a few people, and you cannot be a GENTLEMAN. This has been done to death by many folks already. I am just wondering if the same movie would have had a similar kind of response if instead of having FACEBOOK as a base the director tried to portray some other start up. May be the movie is really getting its raves because it is FACEBOOK and not something else. I would go with a 2.5/5. Probably could have saved those 10 odd bucks and spent em on ENDHIRAN again? πŸ˜› At least would have been paisa or should I say cents vasool!

P.S: As an after thought I should add, probably a coupla years down the line they might make a movie called FRUIT and talk about how APPLE has come to be the phenomenon it is these days.

They kinda already did man, about apple-microsoft rivalry: Pirates of Silicon Valley.
It was super boring though.. Maybe because it was not as well executed as ‘social network’.. πŸ˜›

I still stick to the point that THE SOCIAL NETWORK is doing good coz the movie is about how Facebook has come to be. Well Executed? I just do not understand that…:P
